Interviewed by Kate Cheng
We're well on our way into fall, but there's still time for any ladyboss to travel to warmer climates! Travelle heads to the Philippines and talks to Kryz Uy, of Thirstythought, a lifestyle and travel blog that records this local's daily sartorial adventures, beauty discoveries, inspirations and interesting chronicles.
What are some general tips for women travellers to the Philippines in the fall?
The Philippines only has two seasons- sunny and rainy. So if you’re travelling from July-Sept, bring a raincoat!
What would you recommend a lady wear to work meetings?
Something structured and conservative so you command attention and mean business.
Are there any specific pieces/brands that you love right now for a work wardrobe?
Definitely a black oversized vest. You can wear it in so many different ways and they easily make a look more fashionable.
How would you describe the local street style?
Girls in the Philippines are usually in tropical weather appropriate clothes since it’s always so hot! Think high waisted denims, cropped tops and Birkenstocks!
What staple pieces do you pack for a work or leisure trip?
I always throw in a tank top because they're so versatile. A nice coat and some accessories too!
Any evening outfits you'd recommend for dinner or drinks?
I’m so into solid colored loose dresses in the midi length now. They look awesome with slim jewelry as well.
What are some must-have beauty products that are especially suited to Manila?
I think SUNSCREEN is really important. And make up remover!
What are the most popular exercise studios in the city to keep healthy?
Yogahub in Cebu city! or Cebu Center for Dance!
Any health-conscious places you'd recommend?
The Wholesome Table in Manila.
Any great wellness centers?
Shangrila Mactan, Movenpick Cebu, Sofitel Manila
